Your wedding day is and should be all about you, every bride and groom have their own priorities for their big day and it is important you ensure your day reflects what you want as a couple. But here are a few Do’s and Don’ts we have picked up over the years . . .
DO stay with us the night before . . . Wedding day jitters are natural, if you are having you civil ceremony here at the Moat House it is always ideal if you and the girls stay with us the night before. On the morning of the wedding your wedding coordinator and your master of ceremonies will pay you a little visit to answer any last minute questions and settle any nerves. We have everything in hand during your big day, and having us at your beck and call will allow you to relax and enjoy every moment.
DON’T forget to allow some time with family . . . The first time Dad sees you in your dress is one of the most emotional moments of the day. Take some time to ensure this is included in your wedding day timings. Plan how long you need to get ready, and try to factor in 10 minutes before the ceremony to spend time with Dad and have photographs. Your groom will wait for you, so it’s important to capture these once in a lifetime moments and enjoy them to the fullest.
DO share your wedding day timings . . . Guests like to know what time they are due to eat and what time the DJ will start. An order of service in the ceremony room, or a Blackboard displaying the order of the day will answer their questions so you don’t have to. If guests have children they will know if when to feed them, or if they have time to take them to feed the ducks.
DON’T sweat the small stuff . . . This is the day you marry the love of your life surrounded by your closest family and friends. Good food, drink and a great party are a given here at The Moat House. No-one will know if you have forgotten anything, once the drinks and laughter are flowing, you don’t need much else to guarantee an amazing day.
DO hire a wedding photographer . . . It can seem like an extravagance to hire a professional photographer, especially as all your guests will have their phones at the ready. But we honestly cannot stress enough the important role they play on your big day. The photos taken will act as a lasting memory of the most special day of your life. Imagine looking back in years to come, and showing your Grandchildren your wedding day. These moments cannot be replaced and are simply priceless.
