Wedding Venue Q&A . . . Part 2

In our last blog post, we looked at four burning questions we believe every bride and groom should be asking their wedding venue before they make their booking. Wedding planning can be stressful, so here we return to our wedding venue Q&A and answer those questions for you. Here at The Moat House, Acton Trussell, we are a hotel wedding venue based in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside.

How many wedding do you do a day?
We want to ensure that every wedding day is perfect, and that means we must give our bride and groom our complete attention throughout. Therefore we now only do one wedding per day. This allows your wedding coordinator and our full banqueting team to focus their attention solely and completely on you and your big day. Whilst our hotel, restaurant and bar are still open to the public so we can’t offer you full exclusivity. There will be no other bride and groom in the building.

What are the rules surrounding alcohol?
We want to make sure every is having a fantastic time during your wedding day. As part of this we have a requirement as a licensed wedding venue to act responsibly when it comes to the sale of alcohol. We don’t offer corkage packages, so all alcohol must be purchased on site. Our packages already include 3 drinks for your guests, but this can be increased if you wanted to offer more. You also have the option to put money behind the bar, and we can restrict the sales on this bar tab so your guests can’t go too crazy!

What will the room layout be depending on the final numbers?
Our traditional wedding breakfast layout include a top table which can seat anywhere from 2 guests (sweetheart top table for bride and groom), up to a maximum of 12 people. We then have 5 foot or 6 foot round tables. These tables can accommodate 6 to 10 or 6 to 12 people. Therefore there are no set rules on how many tables must be used. We leave this to you and your discretion. We understand creating your table plan can be a stressful process, so want to make it as easy as possible. Therefore the flexibility involved with how many tables you use is totally down to you.

We want to make sure all your questions are answered so if you have anything to ask we have not yet covered, please use the contact option to speak to a member of our team. Alternatively check back here next week, when part 3 of the wedding venue Q&A will be live.
