All weddings at The Moat House are exclusive – we will only ever host a single wedding on any day so our focus is fully on you. The Moat House provides a personal and professional service enabling you and your guests to feel welcomed and relaxed. We will work with you to ensure your wedding is as you have always imagined it would be. Set in the picturesque village of Acton Trussell, The Moat House is your quintessential Grade II English country manor house, sympathetically converted into a luxury four star hotel and wedding venue.

Surrounded by tranquil calming waters The Moat House has been in The Lewis Family since 1955. The manor house was first opened as a village pub, restaurant and wedding venue in 1988 giving the family over 30 years of experience in helping couples plan their perfect day.

Every couple’s dreams are different and we never forget that the day is all about you. You will benefit from the extensive experience of our wedding coordinators who will work with you to ensure that all of your requirements are treated with the utmost care and exceptional attention to detail.

From a small and intimate wedding to a grand and lavish affair, our stunning hotel and grounds offer superb photographic opportunities leaving you with timeless memories that will last a lifetime.

The Moat House is fully licensed to hold civil marriages, partnerships and renewal of vows ceremonies, offering a variety of rooms to suit all sizes of parties from 4 to 140 guests.

Below are details of our licensed rooms and the capacities they can hold:

The Acton Suite, overlooking the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal can accommodate up to 140 guests.

The Colin Lewis Suite, situated on the first floor of the manor house, with exposed timber beams can accommodate up to 60 guests.

The Library, our traditional oak panelled library also overlooks the canal and is able to accommodate up to 30 guests.

The Pavilion, ideal for small and intimate gatherings during the summer months. Situated on the edge of the moat, the Pavilion can accommodate up to 25 guests.

If you choose to hold your ceremony at The Moat House, the room will be decorated with chair covers, coloured sash of your choice and red carpet.

Your day does not have to end following your evening reception. Each newly married couple are offered complimentary overnight accommodation in our fantastic bridal suite, whilst your guests can take advantage of preferential rates in any one of our 40 beautifully designed luxury bedrooms.

Breakfast the next day is served in our Restaurant. You and your guests can recapture and share the most memorable moments of your day, whilst indulging in a freshly cooked, full English breakfast.
